Wordpress 2.6 Plugin Issues

Blogging Systems, Plugins Add comments

Just a quick note to those of you wanting to upgrade to Wordpress 2.6. From my testing and reading there are a few issues with some popular plugins not working.

The first is the Google Analytics plugin. You will need to install the latest version, then on the Google Analytics option page you will need to click Reset all settings at the bottom, and then re-enter your UA number and select the options you require. If you use the robots meta plugin and RSS Footer plugin from the same author you will need to do a similar thing.

Secondly the Unique Blog Designs Block Ad plugin does not currently work. A fix will be available very shortly so just hang on a few days if you use this plugin and want to upgrade.

Third, another popular plugin, Popularity Contest, has issues. A fix can be found here.

Look here for a further list of plugins that don’t work with Wordpress 2.6.

Please let me know if you would like to upgrade and have any of these plugins installed.

Sorry for posting here, but this is the only I found to contact you. Your contact form is broken (404 error on the AJAX query).

I had comments to make about one of your articles
      Tks

Hi! I’m also having trouble with my comment form since moving to WP 2.6. How did you fix yours? I’ve tried 3 different plugins and still no luck! grrrr. :-)

Hi GeekMom. I reinstalled the plugin and also removed the anti-spam verification questions. It’s strange I have two forms and one works with the Q&A type of verification question and one doesn’t. I’m using the cformsII plugin from Delicious Days. If you need any help please let me know.

      P.S - I love your blog!

Hi Elly. You will need to set up a page called Contact, or whatever you would like to call it. So go to Write > Page and give the page a title. When writing the page, on the toolbar you will have a cfII button that when clicked will allow you to insert a form onto the page. Select the default form in the popup (you can change it later). Press Publish and then view the page and your form should be on the new page.
